Policy regarding on-site interviews: Interviews at INS are preferred, but on-site interviews can be arranged. Applicants may be interviewed at Brooke Army Medical Center, or a telephone interview can be arranged.

Other psychologists: 38 Full-time (in the Brooke Army Medical Center Department of Behavioral Medicine)

Graduate training of residency applicants:

Preferred: Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Neuropsychology experience during Internship

Please note that U.S. Army policy only allows applicants from APA-accredited graduate programs and internships. CPA accreditation alone is not sufficient.

Not Accepted: School Psychology, Non-Psychology Doctoral Programs

Primary emphasis: Adult

Emphases of training opportunities:

Strong: Neuropsychological assessment, neuropsychological rehabilitation, neuropsychological consultation, neuropsychology practice in a military setting, training affiliations with South Texas Veterans (VA) Health Care System, University of Texas Health Science Center, other Military and VA Medical Centers

Moderate: Neuropsychological research, supervision (Fellows supervise Clinical Psychology interns)

Availability of patient populations:

Strong:Traumatic brain injury, psychiatric conditions, ethnically diverse population

Moderate: Dementia, Neurodegenerative Disorders, stroke and cerebrovascular disease, Other neuropathological conditions
